In 1946, as the nation stood on the brink of independence, 299 people were entrusted with establishing the rules for a new India— a country founded on freedom, justice, and equality. They argued, debated, and dreamt aloud as they framed the Constitution of India. Among them were fifteen extraordinary women. They came from villages and cities, from royal households and humble homes. Teachers, doctors, lawyers, social workers, and even rebels— they brought into the Constituent Assembly the voices of women and the hope of future generations. Ammu Swaminathan fought for the rights of widows. Begum Aizaz Rasul defended the rights of the powerless. Dakshayani Velayudhan spoke up for marginalized communities. Hansa Mehta ensured the world would speak of 'all human beings' and not just men. We, the Women of India, celebrate these remarkable women— their life stories, their struggles, and their fierce belief in equality. 21 नवम्बर 1962 को सिरसी मकदूमपुर में जन्मे विपिन त्यागी का बचपन संभल, (उस समय जिला मुरादाबाद) उत्तर प्रदेश में बीता। संभल के प्रतिष्ठित विद्यालय बाल विद्या मंदिर में प्रारंभिक शिक्षा ग्रहण की। बाद में पिता जी के सेवानिवृत्ति से कुछ पहले ही परिवार पैतृक गांव फलौदा, जनपद मुजफ्फरनगर में आ गया। सेवा निवृत्ति के बाद पिता जी भी स्थाई रूप से अपने पैतृक गांव में बस गए। विपिन त्यागी के लेखन में उनके बचपन के कस्बे संभल का असर खूब दिखा है। संभल उस समय क़स्बा ही था, बाद में जिला बना। हालांकि गांव में भी उनके बचपन के कई रूप देखने को मिले। पैतृक गांव फलौदा में ही रहते हुए उन्होंने अपनी प्राथमिक शिक्षा अपने गांव के प्राथमिक विद्यालय में पूरी की, माध्यमिक शिक्षा बरला इंटर कॉलेज में फिर स्नातक डी ए वी डिग्री कॉलेज, मुजफ्फरनगर और स्नातकोत्तर की शिक्षा एम एम एच कॉलेज, गाज़ियाबाद से पूरी की। आपने चित्रकला और हिंदी साहित्य में एम ए किया। बाद में बहुत कठिन परिस्थितियों के रहते रीजनल कॉलेज, अजमेर से बी एड भी की। विभिन्न विद्यालयों में पढ़ाते हुए 1997 में आप राजकीय इंटर कॉलेज, मुजफ्फरनगर में नियुक्त हुए और अभी भी वहीं कार्यरत हैं। लेखन में यह इनका पहला प्रयास है जो संस्मरण के रूप में निकल रहा है। इससे पहले अपने बेटे विकल्प त्यागी के लेखन को समेटते हुए एक संग्रह "वो जो था ख्वाब सा" का संपादन किया था। इनके लेखन में कई रूप दिखाई देते हैं- बचपन, दुःख, संघर्ष सभी जगह आपकी लेखनी बहुत सरल और सहज रूप से अपनी कहानी कहती चली है। एक किस्सागोई है जिसे आप हर पल महसूस करेंगे। इस किताब में न कोई कहानी है, न ये उपन्यास है बस जहाँ से पढ़ना शुरू करेंगे वहीं से दिलचस्पी बननी शुरू हो जायगी। हर घटना अलग लेकिन सब घटनाएं एक दूसरे से जुड़ी हुई हैं।
